Other Means of Transportation from Hong Kong to Chengdu
1. Take a bullet train fromHong Kong to Guangzhou South, then an overnight train fromGuangzhou to Chengdu. Overnight trains originate/end at Guangzhou Railway Station and Chengdu Railway Station, both arecentrally located. The overnight train journey from Guangzhou to Chengdu takes about 30 hours. A hard sleeper ticket costs US$61, and a soft sleeper ticket costs US$109.
2. Take a bullet train fromHong Kong to Shenzhen North, then an overnight train fromShenzhen to Chengdu. Shenzhen – Chengdu overnight trains are terminated at the centrally located stations of Shenzhen and Chengdu, with a travel time of 30 to 40 hours. Hard sleepers are US$64 per ticket and soft sleepers are US$105 per ticket.
3. Travel from Hong Kong to Chengduby air. It is thefastest and most convenientform of transportation between these two cities. The air fare is US$220 – 290 per ticket. The travel time is only 3 hours.
4. You can also take abullet trainfrom Hong Kong to Guangzhou, then take aflightto Chengdu. The flight takes about 3 hours. The Guangzhou to Chengdu air fare is US$88 per ticket. But this optionrequires a transferfrom Guangzhou South Railway Station to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, which are connected by Metro Line 2 and Line 3.
