’an and Luoyang every day so there are more than enough to choose from when booking your tickets. These include 76 bullet trains and 37 normal-speed trains.
It only takes about 1½ hours to travel between the two cities. It is very convenient to do a day trip to Luoyang from Xi’an. Take the early morning train to Luoyang and take the early evening train back to Xi’an.

Train Travel Tips
Most trains running from Xi’an to Luoyang depart from Xi’an. However, be aware that when you travel from Luoyang to Xi’an, the trains pass through Luoyang. This means that the trains only stay in Luoyang for a very short time, usually up to 10 minutes. You have tobe quick to board the train.
Normal-speed trains depart and arrive on the same day and there are also overnight trains. You can choose the best one to fit your schedule. Overnight trains can alsosave a night’s hotel bill.
